“Portraits in red” (2017) inspired by my solo “Spiral” (2013) investigates and explores the idea of the dominant standard of beauty and puts in question the image of the body.
“At the moment of encounter” meditatively, through imagery and impulse, physicalizes the interrogation of the body’s encounters with its internal landscape and energetic impulses.
The genesis of “Fragmented Thoughts” came out of the desire to create a work that was solely based on movement exploration and discovery.
Spiral, originally created as a solo, explores the affects and effects of the imposed Western patriarchal beauty standards
The genesis of this work, created for a cast of 6 to 10 dancers and 6 to 10 singers, was birthed out of a healing ritual in which, after receiving devastating news, I began to create what I was experiencing – my paradise shattering.
